Laparoscopy Surgery Training Center

Minimally invasive Surgery due to its prominent benefits comparing to open surgery is the preferred technique in most of different surgical fields.The Hazrat Rasoul Akram laparoscopic training center is proud in line with highest laparoscopic educational centers of the world , with cooperation of the best Iranian and foreign professors , and by enjoying the most advanced facilities to held many various educational programs for general surgeon , gynecologists , urologists , neuro surgeons , nurses , medical engineers ,and veterenian surgeons since 2005.

More than 500 persons from neighbor(ing) countries and more than 1000 persons from inside the country has been participated in our short term courses.Our Academic 1 year fellowship in MIS general surgery began from 2007.Essential role for establishing Scientific Association of endoscopic General Surgery (2009) and MIS Research Center (2010) are important steps for improving and distribution of this specialty in the country.

We kindly invite all of MIS interested specialties to participate in our center and help us to promote and distribute MIS in the regional countries.

For the first time in the Middle East this center has begun to run ATLS (Advance Traumatic life support) with exclusive features as a main need for organizations involved in natural disaster medicine and management.

Educational objectives:

  1. Presenting basic knowledge for applying in the clinics.
  2. Describing all the basic disciplines (Instruments, apparatus , Ergonomics, patient selection, anesthesiology,…) and presenting the most prevalent basic laparoscopic techniques.
  3. Practical educational sessions for enhancing basic technical skills like suturing skills, hands coordination for dissection, safe application of energy in laparoscopy.
  4. describing consequences and result of laparoscopy.
  5. Organizing basic and advanced courses.
Laparoscopy Surgery Training Center

Nowadays laparoscopy has been accepted as a revolution in treatment of most surgical entities , and new technology has rendered the majority of operations possible within the scope of minimal access techniques.Our center and training programs have been designed after assessing curriculum of the similar laparoscopic training centers in the world (including strusbourg & Dundee centers) , and having comgultations with well-known pioneers and scientific associations in laparoscopic surgery. First basic course of laparoscopic surgery took place at January 2006 under separation of DR.R.K Mishra president of indian chapter of WALS DR.H.Kalbasi , president of Iranian chapter of ACS , and WALS , and other academic members cooperated in this courses.It should be mentioned that this institute has been equipped with financial sponsoring of the WOLF company and its Iranian representation , Iran Behdasht company.

Routine courses in other various sites has three parts:

Theoretical , practical with trainers & dry lab , and working on animal (wet lab).In our center , after completion of the three parts mentioned above, working on cadaver lab has been added to the course , as an advantage.

It should be mentioned that these courses are no way considered as a substitution for formal fellowship courses of minimal access surgery , and participates are to be recommended to obtain the necessary experience as a laparoscopic surgeons aid , to take their learning course for independent laparoscopic surgery.
